David Staal serves as the president of Kids Hope USA, a national non-profit organization that partners local churches with elementary schools to provide mentors for at-risk students. His most important role at Kids Hope USA, though, is as a weekly mentor for an amazing fourth-grader. Before his current non-profit role, David led Promiseland, the children's ministry at Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, Illinois.
David started in ministry as communications director and spokesperson for Willow Creek following a 13-year corporate business career. In addition to his work at Kids Hope USA, David serves as a senior editor for Christianity Today International, as well as a speaker at conferences and churches.
You can read numerous columns and watch short videos by David at Building Church Leaders or his blog for Kids Hope USA.
Other books authored by David include: Words Kids Need to Hear (Zondervan Publishing, 2008), Leading Your Child to Jesus and Leading Kids to Jesus (Zondervan, 2006), and Making Your Children's Ministry the Best Hour of Every Kid's Week (Zondervan, 2004; co-authored with Sue Miller).
His greatest passion in life comes from his family. He lives in Grand Haven, MI, with his wife Becky.
